Our Appeal

The geography and mild year round temperatures create a comfortable living environment year round. With the natural landscape of farms, woods and water, locals and visitors have access to recreational activities such as hunting, fishing, camping, and boating. With Myrtle Beach and the Grand Strand less than 30 miles away, a multitude of vacation attractions are also available from Amusement Parks, Musical Shows, World Class Golf, Dining, and Special Events such as the Carolina Country Music Festival.

Hunting

The Pee Dee region in South Carolina offers diverse opportunities for fishing, hunting, and boating, particularly on the Great Pee Dee River and its tributaries like the Little Pee Dee River. Fishing seasons are generally open seasonally on refuge waters, with specific regulations for motorized boats. Hunting opportunities include quail, deer, and other small game hunting on the Pee Dee National Wildlife Refuge, with permits required for certain hunts. Boating, particularly on the Little Pee Dee, is popular with canoes, kayaks, and small powerboats.
